The history of Horizon West traces back to the transformation of former citrus groves into the vibrant community it is today. A bitter freeze in the 1980s wiped out much of the citrus industry that once flourished here. In 1994, property owners partnered with Orange County to devise a comprehensive master plan, aiming to avoid fragmented development and the challenges faced by other growing areas.
This forward-looking approach led to the division of Horizon West into six unique villages, each with its own central commercial space within walking distance. Additionally, a Town Center was established to cater to larger commercial needs. This visionary design is now a reality, evident in the character of each village.
